On May 28, 2021, the /1.1/help/configuration API will be retired.
This is a short period for deprecation. We know from traffic analysis that this is not a heavily-used API.
This endpoint had previously served mostly static information about the configuration of the Twitter service, and provided some information that could potentially support dynamic settings. In practice, these were not very dynamic - the values reported by this endpoint were completely static over the past few years. We expect to document these settings alongside appropriate API endpoints, rather than serve them via the API, for the immediate future.
There are no current active plans to directly replace this endpoint in the future versions of the Twitter API (v2 and beyond).
If you have questions about this change, we encourage you to use our v2 API discussion forum. If you had specific and regular uses for these values, please let us know in more detail. Thank you!
